Liveblog: Prospects for Peace After Gaza, with PLO Ambassador Areikat

After the collapse of yet another round of US-backed peace talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority, and yet another violent conflict in Gaza this summer, what are the prospects for a peaceful resolution? Maen Rashid Areikat, Chief Representative of the Palestinian government to the US, will address the ongoing occupation and efforts for a peaceful and durable solution. Chief Representative Areikat is the highest-ranking Palestinian governmental official in the US and has been involved in numerous peace negotiations. His remarks will be followed by audience Q&A.

Chief Representative Areikat’s talk is organized by J Street U Brown, a chapter of J Street U, the national pro-Israel, pro-peace progressive Jewish student movement, and is cosponsored by Brown RISD HillelBrown Middle East Studies, the Watson Institute for International Studies, Brown University Model UN, the International Relations DUG and the Middle East Studies DUG.
